Help needed to build kids’ playground in February
- Share via
Girls Inc. of Orange County is asking for the public’s help to build its new playground.
The playground, supported by the KaBOOM! nonprofit and Home Depot, will feature a rock-climbing wall and a “super dome” on which kids may play.
All the public needs to do is build it.
On Feb. 12 and 13, volunteers will prepare the area for the following day’s big project — setting it all up.
Volunteers are needed to host a continental breakfast and a lunch. They also need water for 150 people and paper goods like napkins and plates.
Perhaps most importantly, the organization needs tools, and lots of them.
They’re asking the public to come with shovels, rakes, drills, sledge hammers, hoes, ladders and saws, among other items.
Build Day is 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 14. Girls Inc. is located at 1815 Anaheim Ave. in Costa Mesa. Volunteers are asked to sign up by Jan. 31. For more information call (949) 646-7181 ext. 306 or e-mail [email protected].
