Over 175 cyclists participated in the 25-, 55- and 100-mile routes throughout Orange County starting at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa for the 21st annual Tour de OC Saturday.
The cycling event also featured the charity aspect, as money was raised for Royal Family Kids Camp, a summer camp for abused and neglected children from throughout Orange County, along with a yearlong Mentorship Club Program.
The Tour de OC also had over 55 volunteers participating in various support roles.
The annual event is 100% volunteer driven with great support from the many sponsors and vendors participating.
Over $45,000 was raised, which will provide a positive impact in the lives of the children attending the camp and mentorship program.
One of the cyclists who participated in the Tour de OC is a former Royal Family Kids Camper, someone who’s life was changed through this camp’s experience, and is now giving back.
Costa Mesa Mayor Steve Mensinger attended as the 2015 Tour de OC Ambassador and helped make Tour de OC a success.
