The already crowded race for an open congressional seat in Ventura County gained another candidate with the entry of Ojai educator Akiva Werbalowsky.
Werbalowsky, 47, who describes himself as a ‘Jefferson Republican,’ joins fellow Republicans state Sen. Tony Strickland of Moorpark and Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks.
Among the Democrats seeking the newly drawn 26th District seat are Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett, Moorpark Councilman David Pollock, businessman David Cruz Thayne and Port Hueneme Harbor Commissioner Jess Herrera.
