Victorville’s Joe ‘Daddy’ Stevenson needs a victory to stay relevant in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s lightweight division, so his Feb. 21 main-event fight against ex-welterweight Diego Sanchez of San Diego in UFC 95 has compelling points.

Spike TV, which occasionally airs UFC cards, will televise Stevenson-Sanchez and other undercard fights, including a welterweight clash between Josh Koscheck and newcomer Paulo Thiago at London’s O2 Arena.

Stevenson lost a title shot last year when B.J. Penn submitted him (pictured here) in the second round. Kenny Florian beat Stevenson by submission choke in the first round in November, making a victory now essential. Sanchez (21-2) was a welterweight title contender before back-to-back losses to Koscheck and Jon Fitch in 2007.
