Jack Beckman looking for first NHRA win of 2009

Jack Beckman, a driver from North Hills, is on a long list of drivers in the NHRA Funny Car division without a win this year. The six-time Funny Car winner joins Cruz and Tony Pedregon, John Force, Robert Hight and Tim Wilkerson as Funny Car drivers who are win-less so far in 2009.

The NASCAR Camping World Series West race at Phoenix International Raceway on Thursday is expected to draw some top drivers, including David Gilliland of Riverside; Austin Dillon, the grandson of Richard Childress; and Steve Park, a former Cup Series driver. The field also is expected to include a number of drivers from Southern California.
