Michael Rodriguez, 21, a young Latino, was shot to death in the 500 block of South Gerhart Avenue in East Los Angeles about 1 a.m. Sunday, July 6. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the man was attending a party when he was shot during an argument with another person. The shooter is described as a Latino man, and fled on foot north on Gerhart Avenue, authorities said.
