All knotted up, 14-14, after first quarter of Eastern Division final

We’re tied at 14-14 after the opening quarter here at the Eastern Division final between Palm Desert and visiting Riverside North.

Palm Desert running back Trevor Bateman had a one-yard touchdown run on his team’s first drive and scored on a 43-yard reception with five seconds left in the quarter to tie the score.

The Aztecs couldn’t get a first down on their other two drives, shanked the punt out of bounds and the Huskies scored one play later on a long run each time.

Good crowd here tonight and it looks as if they’re in for a good game.
