Baseball: Cal State LA’s Contreras drafted in Round 24

Henry Contreras, a catcher from Cal State Los Angeles by way of Duarte High, was selected by the Seattle Mariners in Round 24 Friday with the No. 732 overall pick of the Major League Baseball’s first-year player draft.

Efrin Oropesa, a first baseman from Etiwanda High, was chosen 742nd by the Boston Red Sox.
