Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander James McDonald III, a Long Beach Poly grad, has donated a set of jerseys to celebrate Poly’s baseball history.
He purchased replica jerseys from the 1963 Poly team, the last Jackrabbits squad to win a Southern Section championship.
It’s the 50th anniversary for the 1963 team. McDonald’s brother, Kenton, is a senior on this year’s Poly team.
The Jackrabbits will be wearing the jersey on Monday night for a Moore League game against Lakewood at Blair Field.
