Officials of the Pasadena and Altadena chapters of the National Assn. for the Advancement of Colored People charged the Pacific 10 Conference with racial discrimination because of the lack of black officials in today’s Rose Bowl Game.
“It’s out-and-out discrimination,” said Hillard Ham of the Pasadena NAACP. The group asked that the Pac-10 use more qualified black officials in the future.
