A 3-year-old boy with herpes spent a second day as the lone pupil in his classroom in Pasadena, Md., while in Council Bluffs, Iowa, dozens of students returned to school after a one-day boycott to protest the enrollment of a 3-year-old girl with the disease. Meanwhile, Dr. Ward Cates of the U.S. Public Health Service said the spread of herpes infections among children can be easily controlled.
