Titan Women Beat Arizona State

Senior center Terri Withers had 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team to a 79-58 win over Arizona State in a Western Collegiate Athletic Assn. game Saturday in Titan Gym.
Fullerton (5-1, 14-5) took a 37-32 lead at halftime. Junior guard Robin Holmes added 15 points for the Titans and senior forward Meg Gallagher contributed 8 points and 10 assists. The win keeps Fullerton within striking distance of third-ranked Cal State Long Beach in the race for the conference championship. The Titans play host to host the 49ers next Friday.
Arizona State (0-6, 8-11) was led by guard Jodi Rathbun’s 14 points.
In other women’s college action:
UC Irvine 66, Loyola Marymount 51--Three players scored in double figures as the Anteaters improved their overall record to 15-4 with the nonconference win at Loyola Marymount. Irvine was led by Vickie Graham (18 points, 12 rebounds) and Cheri Graham (18 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists). Loyola Marymount (1-18) got 12 points from Margie Schulte and 11 from Lisa Simpson.
