As to the excellent letters about brewing tea--that of Polly Browder (Jan. 12) and Mae Ferris (Jan. 21): After following the steps described in the letters one should just before sipping gargle twice with hot water.
Raspa Mukerjee, in 1965 and probably still, tea bearer in the dining room of the Connemara Hotel in Madras, suggested gargling. It has proved good advice.
