One Dead, One Missing in Ammunition Plant Blast

RADFORD, Va. — One worker was killed Wednesday and another was missing and feared dead in the explosion of 5,000 pounds of nitroglycerine at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.
Seven other employees working in the area were treated for minor cuts and shock and returned to work. The building where the explosive was manufactured was leveled by the blast.
