Phillip B. Jordan, 53, a regional superintendent in the Los Angeles Unified School District, has been named superintendent of the Pasadena School District. Jordan will assume leadership of the 23,468-student district next Monday, district officials said. He will succeed Ramon C. Cortines, who left last May to become superintendent of the San Jose School District. A Pasadena resident for 28 years, Jordan has been superintendent of administrative Region C, in Los Angeles’ inner city, since 1980.
