A Santee man was shot and killed about 5 a.m. Monday during an argument with his roommate, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department reported. Daniel Charles Renteria, 28, was wounded in the abdomen and a leg. He was flown by a Life Flight helicopter to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:55 a.m. Ricky Stuart Lochead, 31, a salesman who lived with Renteria, was been booked on suspicion of murder at the County Jail in downtown San Diego. Sheriff’s investigators said Renteria was shot with a large-caliber rifle.
