Elderly Couple Found Dead in Fairfax Home

The bodies of two octogenarians were found in their Fairfax home, apparently victims of a murder-suicide, Los Angeles police said Monday.
I. Alexander Hamilton, 81, wrote in a suicide note that he had killed his wife, Iliana Cosby Hamilton, also 81, because she was in constant pain from a recent back injury, a police spokesman said.
A coroner’s spokesman said she died from suffocation and also had suffered a heavy blow from a blunt instrument as she lay in bed. Her husband apparently then fired a single pistol shot into his head.
The bodies were discovered Sunday afternoon.
