Santa Ana : Construction Starts on Financial Building in Redevelopment Area
- Share via
Construction has begun on the North Town Financial Plaza, part of the major redevelopment in the north side of town near Fashion Square.
The 45,000-square-foot brick-and-glass office building is scheduled for completion in January.
A spokesperson for the builder, Lowy Development Corp. of Los Angeles, said the site’s long, narrow configuration presented an unusual challenge to designers. Located on the southwest corner of Main Street and Owens Drive, the site is deep, with minimal frontage.
The building will consist of three stories, and the upper levels will create a covered walkway around much of the smaller ground floor.
The north Main Street redevelopment also includes the $400-million upgrading of Fashion Square. Another 45,000-square-foot office building is planned for a site adjacent to the Broadway overpass, under construction over the Santa Ana Freeway.
