John G. Russell, a senior vice president with Grubb and Ellis Co. of Newport Beach, has been named president of its newly formed Pacific Southwest region. Russell formerly was vice president and district manager of the firm’s Phoenix commercial brokerage office. While in that position, Russell is credited with having guided the office to its present No. 1 ranking of all Grubb & Ellis commercial offices, with more than $600 million in commercial real estate transactions. In his new position, Russell will oversee the company’s real estate services in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada and Hawaii.

Tom Steskal has been appointed corporate sales manager at Inacomp Computer Centers, a Garden Grove-based retailer of business and personal microcomputers.
