Car Goes Off Cliff; Driver Killed

An 18-year-old Garden Grove woman was killed early Saturday in Huntington Beach when her car crashed on the beach after racing through an intersection, hitting a pipeline and falling over a cliff, police reported.
Kimberly A. Lind was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple injuries suffered during the 1:23 a.m. accident, a Huntington Beach police spokesman said.
According to police, Lind was driving her Volkswagen west on Golden West Street at 70 to 80 m.p.h. when she approached the intersection at Pacific Coast Highway. She went through the intersection and hit the pipeline before going over the 30-foot cliff.
Police said an investigation was continuing.
