BERKELEY — At least 112 demonstrators, including black activist Angela Davis, were arrested early today at the University of California as about 350 people massed for a sunrise anti-apartheid rally.
Marchers, including Oakland City Council member Wilson Riles Jr. and the Rev. Cecil Williams, linked arms and listened to speeches on the steps of University Hall. Williams, of Glide Memorial Church in San Francisco, was one of those arrested. The demonstrators were cited for blocking public access to the building and released.
