Newport firm got approval for allergy test kit.

NMS Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Thursday that it has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the new test kit, which determines if a patient is allergic to specific medicines by analyzing reactions in a blood sample. The test can only be administered in hospitals, laboratories and physician offices.
