Senate Panel OKs First N. J. Latino Federal Judge

WASHINGTON — The Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday unanimously approved and sent to the full Senate the nomination of Joseph H. Rodriguez to be a federal district judge. Rodriguez, 54, who is New Jersey’s public advocate, would be the first Latino federal judge in the state.
