Gambling Den Closed

PEKING — A hotel in Guangdong province ran a gambling den named “Pleasure City” and raked in about $7,000 a day until a newspaper expose led to its closure, the official China Daily reported Tuesday. Located in Taiping township a few hours by river steamer from Hong Kong, the den attracted throngs of youngsters for dice and other illegal betting, the English-language daily reported.
