Robert G. Drees, 58, of Downey, has been appointed a municipal judge for the Downey Judicial District by Gov. George Deukmejian, replacing Judge Leon Emerson, who retired April 15.
Drees has maintained a law practice in Downey since 1974. He is a former sergeant in the Los Angeles Police Department and former Orange County deputy district attorney.
