U.S., Mexico Start Probe Into Threat

SAN DIEGO — U.S. and Mexican authorities Wednesday were conducting an investigation concerning a single leaflet that threatens violence against U.S. visitors to Mexico unless disciplinary action is taken against the Border Patrol agent who shot a 12-year-old Mexican boy last month.
San Diego police said the flyer was given to a U.S. citizen Tuesday at the San Ysidro border.
“With only one note . . , we don’t know the extent of the threats,” Police Capt. Dave Johnson said. “But any threat against Americans is taken seriously.” The matter also has been referred to the State Department.
