Crenshaw Basketball Team in Final of International Prep Tournament

AARHUS, Denmark — Crenshaw, which reeled off 24 straight victories to win the California state high school basketball championship, has turned loose its vaunted press in Europe.
Wednesday, in the semifinals of an international high school tournament, the Cougars crushed Israel, 143-86, for their fifth straight victory. Stephen Thompson, City Player of the Year, led Crenshaw with 40 points. Forward Stanley Brundy added 20.
Crenshaw beat Cyprus in a quarterfinal game earlier Wednesday, 143-48.
Crenshaw will play Turkey for the championship tonight. Turkey beat France in Wednesday’s other semifinal, 74-67. Crenshaw defeated France in its opener last Sunday, 107-66.
