Angels Get Good and Bad News on DeCinces and Zahn
- Share via
Third baseman Doug DeCinces and pitcher Geoff Zahn of the Angels were examined Monday by Dr. Lewis Yocum at Centinela Hospital Medical Center in Inglewood and both were given cortisone injections.
DeCinces, sidelined by back spasms since the first inning of Friday night’s game at Milwaukee, is expected to be ready for Friday night’s home stand opener against New York, a team spokesman said.
Zahn will be eligible to leave the disabled list Wednesday but is unable to throw because of the lingering discomfort from tendinitis in his left shoulder and remains on an indefinite schedule.
