A 32-year-old Huntington Beach man was free on bail Wednesday following his arrest on suspicion of selling cocaine.
Michael Kent Hancock was taken into custody at his home on Fairland Court Tuesday by San Bernardino County sheriff’s investigators, who also seized a kilogram of the narcotic, valued at $100,000, three expensive foreign cars and numerous gemstones.
Sgt. Jimmy Mauldin said deputies had been investigating Hancock’s activities for several months after receiving information that he was allegedly selling cocaine in the San Bernardino area.
Deputies also said they found paraphernalia used in narcotics sales and ledgers listing the names of people they believe may have been Hancock’s customers.
Authorities will attempt to prove that the 1982 Porsche and two Mercedes-Benzes, and a quantity of emeralds, sapphires and rubies were obtained as a direct result of drug sales, according to Mauldin.
Hancock told investigators he operates an import-export business and deals in gems as a sideline.
