Advertisements offering $2.3 million for information leading to the capture of Nazi concentration camp doctor Josef Mengele will be published in South American newspapers next week, a member of the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center said. The ads will show a photo of Mengele in his mid-40s and an artist’s impression of how he might look at his present age--74. They will begin: “Wanted--Dr. Josef Mengele, for his crimes against humanity.” Mengele, who has been reported living in Paraguay, is accused of responsibility for the murder of 400,000 Jews at Auschwitz.
