The city attorney’s office has announced the filing of a consumer protection lawsuit against Geoffrey Cooper, operator of Seacoast Natural Foods, 3352 Adams Ave.
Cooper is alleged to have engaged in unclean practices dealing with the storage, display and sale of food, and to have several structural deficiencies in the store.
A hearing to determine whether a preliminary injunction should be issued against Cooper and Seacoast is set for June 25. In the suit, the city alleges that Cooper is engaging in unfair or unlawful business practices in violation of California business and professions codes.
Reached at Seacoast Natural Foods late Thursday, Cooper declined comment. “The case is pending,” he said, “and we’ll go from there.”
