Southern Section 3-A Baseball : Sonora Eliminated by El Segundo, 5-1

The El Segundo High School baseball team defeated Sonora in the first round of the Southern Section 3-A playoffs Thursday at El Segundo, 5-1
Eagle pitcher Jim Hudson (13-4) threw a three-hitter and struck out 10 on the way to the victory. El Segundo (22-7), the Pioneer League champion, scored three runs in the first inning, another in the fourth, and the last in the sixth.
The Raiders (13-12), the Freeway League’s third-place representative, scored with two out in the sixth when Robert Stuart drove in Mark Hamo with an infield single. Sonora pitcher Mike McClaran (6-4) took the loss, giving up six hits.
