BARYSHNIKOV’S ‘NUTCRACKER’ TO RETURN
American Ballet Theatre will dance Mikhail Baryshnikov’s “Nutcracker” for “a limited run” at the Shrine Auditorium in December, The Times learned Friday. A company spokesman said no other repertory is scheduled.
Baryshnikov’s 1976 production of the beloved Christmas ballet was last danced here by ABT in 1978 at the Music Center, but has been seen in a television version annually for the past few years.
No casting or dates have been announced, and a spokeswoman for the Shrine would say only that the Shrine is in the process of contracting the engagement, rumored to extend to several weeks.
