Cal Poly Pomona Gets Split in Playoff

Sophomore Tom Weeks had three doubles and a home run to lead Cal Poly Pomona to a 14-4 victory over Sacramento State for a split of a doubleheader in the NCAA Division II West regional playoff Friday at Pomona.
In the first game, Weeks went 5 for 5 in a 10-9 loss.
With the split, Cal Poly Pomona now has a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series that determines the region’s representative in the six-team NCAA Division II College World Series at Montgomery, Ala. The two teams play again today.
