Former Jackson Aide Faces Prison, Fine

CLEVELAND — Cleveland businessman Arnold Pinkney, former presidential campaign manager for Jesse Jackson, faces up to an 18-month prison term and a $2,500 fine for using his public office for personal gain.
Pinkney, 54, said he was “absolutely shocked” by the guilty verdict Friday on a felony charge. His lawyer said he will appeal. Sentencing is set for June 21.
Pinkney, Jackson’s 1984 national presidential campaign manager, was accused of using his dual roles as a member of the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority and a partner in Pinkney-Perry Insurance Agency Inc. for personal gain.
