Discrimination

In reply to the erroneous claim by Edward Watson (April 27), chief of Los Angeles County employee’s relations and compensation, that, “We do not discriminate in employment in any way in Los Angeles County,” I say, “Balderdash!”
Apparently Watson is unfamiliar with the county’s history of employment discrimination. In a recent civil suit against the county, county counsel settled out of court in favor of the plaintiffs. I was one of those plaintiffs in the suit, and I have just been rightfully reinstated in my job with the county.
We won the case because under federal statute, the county unlawfully denied us employment. This is only one case of many, and Watson should open his eyes.
