Budget Vote in the Senate

When they rolled in one of “our” senators--the Honorable Pete Wilson--onto the Senate floor (after an emergency appendectomy) to cast the vote that caused a 49-49 deadlock and allowed Vice President Bush to break the tie on President Reagan’s budget plan, it proved one thing:
They, not only sliced away Wilson’s appendix; they also cut his heart out!
