Sterling Bank bought a First Interstate branch.

Allan Dalshaug, chairman of Los Angeles-based Sterling, agreed to buy a First Interstate branch in Tarzana. The branch was one of two acquired by First Interstate from West Valley Bank after the California Superintendent of Banks closed West Valley in February. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
