Dennis Phillips, 33-year-old poet and a writing and literature teacher at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, is the new director of Beyond Baroque, an art center situated in the Old Venice City Hall. Phillips, who wrote the book, “The Hero Is Nothing,” replaced Jocelyn Fisher, who resigned to pursue other interests.
