The Nation : Texas Students Indicted

A Texas grand jury returned 33 indictments against eight high school students who allegedly belonged to the Legion of Doom, a vigilante group accused of violence against other students. The eight young men were charged with an array of felonies and misdemeanors stemming from pipe bombings and other activities at Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Tex. The group, comprised mostly of honor students and athletes, resorted to violence in a misguided attempt to rid the school of crime and drugs, police have said. Assistant Dist. Atty. Scott Wisch said there was no evidence that the group was tied to outside extremists.
