Division II Baseball : Cal Poly Pomona Loses in Title Game

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Tom Temrowski, with a three-run triple, a two-run home run, a run-scoring single and a double, led Florida Southern to a 15-5 victory over Cal Poly Pomona in the championship game of the NCAA Division II college world series Tuesday night.
Florida Southern sailed through the tournament undefeated to claim its sixth national championship in the 19-year history of the series.
Shortstop Johnnie Pleicones went 5 for 6 for Florida Southern in a 21-hit barrage, including a solo homer in the sixth. Bobby Green and John Burke each had solo homers for the Mocassins.
The Mocassins scored three in the first inning, two in the third, two in the fifth, five in the sixth and one each in the seventh and ninth.
Cal Poly Pomona’s Skyler Faria had a solo homer in the eighth.
