Mater Dei High School second baseman Chris Gill has signed a national letter of intent to attend Cal State Long Beach this fall.
Gill becomes the fifth Monarch player to earn a college scholarship, joining third baseman Tony Gardea (Chapman), shortstop Bobby DeJardin (Loyola), catcher Anthony Follico (USC) and pitcher Jon Hulshof (Chapman).
Gill led Mater Dei with 32 runs scored and also stole 15 bases. He plans to major in physical therapy at Long Beach.
