Envoys to West Germany and El Salvador Confirmed

WASHINGTON — The Senate confirmed three State Department appointments Tuesday. Richard R. Burt, assistant secretary of state for European affairs, was confirmed on a vote of 88 to 10 as ambassador to West Germany; Rozanne L. Ridgway, a career diplomat currently serving as ambassador to East Germany, was named to succeed Burt on a vote of 88 to 9, and Edwin G. Corr was confirmed as ambassador to El Salvador, 89 to 8.
