BRUNSWICK, Me. — A summer art exhibit at Bowdoin College opened to mixed reviews, but by the time it closed even the exhibit’s creators had to admit the work was rotten.
The show, called “The Potatoes Act Out a Paradigm Shift,” turned into 2,000 pounds of rotten Maine spuds and the college’s Museum of Art had to fumigate its gallery. Officials blame recent humid weather for hastening the potato art’s demise.
