Speculation that Marco Baldi, a 6-11, 250-pound center from Long Island Lutheran High School in New York, would back out of his commitment to play basketball at St. John’s and enroll at USC is untrue, according to Baldi’s high school coach.

“You might as well put him in a St. John’s uniform now,” Bob McKillop said from his summer basketball camp at the high school, where Baldi is one of the instructors.
