“Consumer Groups Push Banks Back to Basics” (For What It’s Worth, Aug. 19) would cause one to think that all check cashers charge 10% for checks and $3 for money orders.
Jet Food Stamp Center Inc. charges 1% of the dollar amount as our fee on all checks. We provide money orders to our customers for no fee. This is done as a public service to the community. Furthermore, we provide free money orders to people that do not cash checks or utilize our food stamp distribution and RTD bus pass distribution network.
We have five clean, secure and convenient locations for the public. We are a viable alternative to legislating banking services.
