Tennis Tournament Adopts New Format

NEW YORK — The tennis Tournament of Champions has expanded its format to include lifetime winners of tournaments officially sanctioned by World Championship Tennis, the Men’s International Professional Tennis Council and the Assn. of Tennis Professionals.
The revised format will be in effect for next year’s Tournament of Champions, May 5-11, in Forest Hills, N.Y.
For the past six years, the tournament used a “Champions Only” entry system.
