Council Integrity in S. Pasadena
When I won my place on the South Pasadena City Council, the swearing-in ceremony was a public matter. The oath of office states, implies or infers the responsibility of office, the authority of the officeholder and the accountability for performance to the public in general.
I have no hesitation or mental reservation about taking that oath again, here and now.
The blatant violation of executive confidentiality we have suffered (in the release of information regarding the proposed termination of Police Chief Sam L. Buntyn) must not be made light of by the public or the press. The assistance of the district attorney’s office may be required to help find the guilty party.
The integrity of South Pasadena City Council executive meetings cannot be guaranteed until the guilty person is exposed and asked to resign.
