Passenger ferryboat service will resume soon between San Francisco and Stockton for the first time in half a century. David W. Pence, general manager of the Red & White Fleet, said the service will be inaugurated Sept. 21, with the speedy catamaran ferry CataMarin, which has been carrying commuters between San Francisco, Sausalito and Tiburon. The vessel can make the 85-mile San Francisco-to-Stockton run in 3 1/2 hours. The stern-wheelers Delta Queen and Delta King made it an 11-hour, overnight river trip in the 1920s and 1930s.
