2nd Chess Game Ends in Draw

MOSCOW — The second game of the world chess championship final between titleholder Anatoly Karpov and challenger Gary Kasparov ended in a draw today on the 65th move.

Kasparov won the first game, and now has 1 1/2 points to Karpov’s half-point. Under rules for this championship, a victory counts as one point and a draw a half-point. The first player to win six games or to accumulate 12 1/2 points will be declared the winner. In the case of a tie after 24 games, Karpov would retain his title.
